Spring Honors 2011
For over twenty years Miller School of Albemarle has held Spring Honors as a way of celebrating academics. Growing out of the English department as a way for students showcase those things that they had learned; public speaking, spelling, art and photography and music. It is a morning full of remarkable performances and art exhibits as well as a spelling bee and poetry and oratory presentations. Below are this year’s results. Congratulations to all who participated! You are ALL amazing! View a slide show of the event HERE.

New Bleachers At The Baseball Field!
On April 13th we installed a 165 seat set of bleachers at the baseball field. It was the epitome of the MSA story. The materials arrived on a flatbed trailer at 9:20 AM, at 9:30 AM 30 students began screwing on bleacher seat end caps and then unloading them, while other started the installation of the steel support system. At one point we had 60 students there, all active; loading, placing, carrying, using power screwdrivers, or tightening bolts and nuts in place. It was absolutely wonderful to participate in and observe. It was truly an inspirational day, tugging at both our history and the good work today’s kids can do. Even the older alumni group will love it. We set up the entire (gigantic) structure in 2 ½ hours! And as you might image, Baseball Coach Sammie Beale was kind of happy. Like on most days, Miller School students were remarkable, and we are thankful for them and proud of them. A big thank you to all who were involved in this very exciting project!
