Deliciousness Is In Your Future

We are pleased and excited to announce that MSA has a new food service company, Meriwether Godsey. Rob Stokes, Executive Chef,  heads up the new team which includes (pictured left to right) Austin Blake, Dewy Layman, Robert Wood, Jose Rodriguez, and Rob Stokes (not pictured Jill Ward).

Beginning this week, faculty and staff have been looking forward each day to what breakfast and lunch might hold, and no one has been disappointed. During lunch on Wednesday all conversation at the table this reporter sat at was about the appealing food we were all savoring. My personal favorites from this week are as follows: lettuce wraps with either grilled chicken or beef with cucumber, cilantro and peanuts, add your choice of three sauces; Thai peanut, sweet chili or teriyaki; fresh greens with feta and peanuts; peaches and apples from MSA’s own orchards, and the blueberry scones and apple walnut scones at breakfast. Also available is a nice variety of juices, lemonade, freshly brewed iced tea and more than one choice of Greenberry’s Coffee.

In addition to the great food being served, the dining hall looks really spiffy; colorful information on nutrition has been added to the walls and even foodstuffs such as the large variety of breads, butters, and jams have been artistically arranged. Eco friendly napkins now are available at each table – no more waste due to taking more than you need.

Menus will now be available every week on our new web site with links to Meriwether Godsey where you can read more about our new culinary partners, their philosophy and great ideas.

Meriwether Godsey is all about a balance between what tastes good and healthy choices. From my experience this week, the balance is perfect. We really think that students are also going to love the new food program. Once everyone is back at school and has had a chance to sample the new fare, we would love to hear what you think!

When asked about what makes his food so good, Rob answered “ Loving food is what it’s  all about, and if you put that love into the food, you can’t go wrong. “ We couldn’t agree more.
